Frédéric Perret, Head of Sales for Goodyear Proactive Solutions in France, effectively has a very important mission – to keep his customers’ trucks on the road. Goodyear has a long-established reputation for manufacturing high-quality tyres, but Frédéric knows that Goodyear can support customers in many other ways; the services and solutions wrapped up in the Total Mobility offering, are a very good offer for fleet managers.

My job is really to keep customers mobile – to keep their trucks on the road. That’s why we call this whole package Total Mobility – we believe it has everything a truck fleet needs to drive the best possible results.

Frédéric explains how the idea for Total Mobility came from a single statistic. “85% of tyre-related breakdowns start with a slow puncture, or a gradual decrease in pressure. Many customers use our TPMS solution to constantly measure tyre-pressure, and see automated alerts on their PC or mobile device when pressure drops. Equally, our Drive-Over-Reader gives our customers a way of checking tyre pressure and remaining tread in just a few seconds. Together, they are solutions that help customers spot any tyre-related problems before they become a big problem.”

He also notes that TPMS and the Drive-Over-Reader do much more than prevent breakdowns. “Under-inflated tyres also wear out more quickly and have a bad rolling resistance level – which means they use more fuel and create more CO2 emissions. So we help to prevent the incidents that lead to downtime, and keep operating costs to a minimum.”

Frédéric also knows that customers want more than pressure-monitoring solutions. Customers also use Goodyear’s Multiple Life Concept to extend tyre life with regrooving and retreading. FleetOnlineSolutions and Fleet Tracker are software solutions that help customers to manage the tyres of their fleets, while ServiceLine24h is there to get trucks moving again in an average of 2 hours if they do have a problem. And of course, there is TruckForce, the Europe-wide network of partners who maintain and repair tyres and advise on anything tyre-related.
