Contingency planning is one of the keys to success of a fleet and this is why many fleets decide to adopt Goodyear Total Mobility technology. A significant statistic is given by Andrea Gottardi, the owner of Gottardi Autotrasporti SRL and TPMS Ambassador of Goodyear: “In recent years I have installed the Goodyear TPMS technology on 20 vehicles, with the objective of fitting out the remainder of vehicles in my fleet by the end of 2020. Thanks to this detection system we have been able to prevent 80% of the problems linked to tyres, avoiding inconveniences and vehicle downtime.”
Gottardi, nominated Goodyear TPMS ambassador for the constant input provided to improve the system through continuous utilisation, explains why TPMS is perfect for his needs: “TPMS is a system that to date is the most complete for the demands of my fleet. First and foremost, it can be installed on both tractors and semi-trailers, new or second-hand, and this allows my entire fleet to be covered without exception and thus provides real added-value when compared to other products.”
“Furthermore, it is extremely simple to use,” he continues. “By means of an app, I receive daily updates regarding the condition of the tyres and at any time, I can check temperature and pressure. To date, all the above has provided us with cost savings for unforeseen events that I can estimate at 20,000 euro per year.”
The partnership between Goodyear and Gottardi Autotrasporti has a common core objective: “we arrive first to win. The history of our company goes back to the start of the nineteenth century, when my grandfather transported goods by horse”, Gottardi continues. “Our first vehicle was registered in 1949, and since then we have continued to work to broaden our offer: our fleet is composed of ninety vehicles (tractor and semitrailer) and our portfolio is diversified, ranging from large-scale works to waste disposal.
