Since APM Transport was founded in Attica, Greece in 1995, thousands of journeys have been completed. But perhaps one of the most significant was that of owner Michalis Papas, when he travelled to the Goodyear Research & Testing facility Mireval in France at the invitation of Goodyear Hellas in 2018.
APM Transport is a specialist in the safe transport of pharmaceuticals and other heat-sensitive products under controlled temperature conditions (GDP EU 2013/C 343/01) and Michalis is aware of the trust placed in him by loyal customers: “One of the main goals of our company is the reliability of our services to our customers, which means accurate delivery time at the best possible cost.” This was why the chance to hear about the latest developments in tyres and tyre management at Mireval was of great interest, since it gave him an opportunity to further improve reliability and customer service.
Presented with KMAX GEN-2 & FUELMAX GEN-2 tyres as well as a number of proactive tyre management solutions, Michalis began a successful and ongoing relationship with Goodyear. “I was looking for a partner that could meet all our needs. Goodyear’s Europe-wide TruckForce network, along with the Total Mobility fleet management system, was an impressive, comprehensive solution for us”.
Michalis explains why Goodyear is such a good match for APM Transport: “I could see that their philosophy and desire for quality was perfectly in line with ours. For example, we both understood the need to minimise downtime because it threatened delivery quality and increased our costs”. Goodyear therefore worked with Michalis to reduce the cost and disruption caused to his fleet by tyre-related incidents: “We estimate the reduction in our service costs for road service incidents at 42% – and the benefit of timely delivery of goods to our customers is invaluable”.
